What you can expect from CTC

Assessment:

John will start with a thorough complimentary assessment of needs to assess the appropriate level of care. If appropriate fit and both parent(s) and young adult agree and sign a contract, additional assessments will include reviewing psychological testing and related reports, relevant academic transcripts, 504 plans & IEP’s, John evaluates all available options and may recommend one or more of the following:

Short-term Stabalization:

These inpatient programs are designed to diagnose and treat more severe mental health and substance abuse issues. Typically followed by some level of aftercare. Care may be provided in an emergency room, hospital, psychiatric hospital, or mental health or addiction rehabilitation facility.

Residential Treatment Centers (RTC):

RTC’s provide a longer-term and more intensive level of treatment and structure, involving significant (24/7) supervision and a wide array of services and clinical approaches. Individuals are able to access a higher level of care than can be provided by individual, family, or group therapy alone. Residential treatment centers are available for both youth and adults, and stays can range in length from 28 days to six months and beyond.

Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare (OBH) Programs:

OBH programs (sometimes referred to as wilderness therapy programs) involve the prescriptive use of nature-based experiences by licensed mental health professionals to meet the therapeutic needs of clients - utilizing back-country travel, adventure & wilderness experiences to allow for clinical assessment, the establishment of therapeutic goals, and a reasonable course of treatment not to exceed the productive impact of the experience (typically 8-12 weeks).

Transitional/After Care:

Transitional living programs typically (but not always) follow a primary intervention such as an RTC, wilderness, or stabilization program. The typical length of stay is six to eighteen months but can be longer or shorter depending on each individual’s needs. Most programs feature home-like living situations where residents and staff cooperate in a family-like relationship while teaching life skills and striving for complete healing.

Ongoing Support:

Reviewing & Recommending options is only the start of the support you’ll receive from CTC. Our ongoing support includes but is not limited to:

  • Navigating the admission and enrollment process after a program has been chosen.

  • Help with transportation, if needed.

  • Ongoing communication with you, the program, and any home support team.

  • Additional referrals to appropriate professionals who can enhance your family’s experience.

  • Advocacy for you and your family.

*** Typical contract and fee include 6 months of support - including the aforementioned services.
